Tonight's service of remembrance reminds me of a memorial quote I once read. As the reader of the quote, I was left to conclude that the dialogue was between a mother who was terminally ill and her daughter.
" There is no death, daughter. People die only when we forget them, my mother explained shortly before she left me. If you can remember me, I will be with you always."
To each of you on tonight, I want to let you know, that even though your love done is not here in the physical form... as long as you continue to keep their memory and spirit alive, they will always be with you and apart of you.
As each of you experience your own personal journey of grief and healing please find comfort in knowing that the day will come when you will turn the corner in the way you cope. Someday the intense pain you now feel will be a dull ache, but it will always ache.
To each of the families that made the conscious decision to engage T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, Inc. and Carver Memorial Cemetery your preferred choice,we can not say thank you enough. Your confidence and trust in our ability to care for your beloved and to help you and your family during your time of need means more to us then just doing business. To us, we are walking in our calling. It's easy to get caught up in the business and paperwork, but when you have an owner, manager, and mother like Mrs. Cora Overton who constantly reminds me that "as long as you do good by the families you serve Renee',God will bless you abundantly."
I stand before you tonight not just because I'm on the program, but because I want to personally let each of you know that we value and do not take likely your support, your loyalty, your trust, and your confidence in our firm. You could have entrusted any another firm, but instead you choose us. And that family is a blessing that I do not take likely nor do I take for granted.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
